We're pleased to offer the following services in our Desoto Veterinary Hospital:
Wellness Examinations & Vaccinations
"It's all About Your Pet!"
Because our pets age at an accelerated rate, they may also develop changes in their body systems quickly. Many times these changes can only be detected by a thorough examination by a trained veterinarian or through blood chemistry. We believe that every pet should have a complete wellness examination including wellness blood-work at least once every year and senior pets and those on therapeutic medications should be examined twice yearly.
Vaccinations should be determined by your pet's life-stage and lifestyle. We would be happy to discuss your pet's individual needs and develop a plan for their optimal care.
Good dental health can add three to five years to your pet's life. We offer thorough dental cleanings and tooth extraction in our hospital. Dental cleanings are done under anesthesia for your pet's comfort and safety. (We still haven't met a dog or cat that can hold their mouth open and be still for 45 minutes) Since our pets can't brush their own teeth daily, we offer a variety of Home Dental Care Products to assist you in the war against plaque and tarter.
We offer a wide range of surgical services to our clients at Willow Brook Animal Hospital. Our routine surgeries include spays, neuters, tumor removals, etc. We also offer some orthopedic procedures such as cranial cruciate ligament repair, luxating patella repair, and femoral head octectomy. For very involved or complicated surgeries, we have excellent relationships with board-certified surgical specialists in the metroplex, and refer the cases that are beyond the scope of our facilities.
Our Hospital is equipped with a complete laboratory, so we can have the results of blood tests and cytologies, quickly during your visit. Some specialized blood chemistry may need to be sent to an outside lab. Results are usually available the next day. We require pre-anesthetic blood tests prior to surgery to ensure that your pet's body systems are working properly.
We maintain a well-stocked pharmacy. Prescriptions can be filled during your visit, and refills may be picked up any time during office hours. Please call ahead, so we can have your pet's medication ready for you when you stop by. Some prescriptions require periodic blood testing to make sure that your pet's system is working properly and to prevent any unfavorable side-effects. Click here to request a prescription refill. Medications which need to be ordered specifically for your pet may require a couple of days to acquire.
